Recently I read a Computer Science article about keeping notes in the workplace. If I were working in finances or sales or any number of other industries, this might make sense … but in Software Engineering? My initial reaction was “That’s crazy!.” As I thought about it, however, I felt the author may have been on to something. The more I considered it, the more I liked the idea of recording my experiences and moments of learning but the whole “notes” idea was still a big turn off. It felt too tedious. So, I decided I would write about my learning experiences during my career as a Software Engineer to help me remember what I learn, see my progression over time, and hopefully entertain/help people along the way! Now that I have a job doing what I love on a daily basis, I am excited to write about something I am passionate about.
So, what can you expect from my posts? Well, I will be writing about things I learn both on and off the job, problems I have solved as well as those that still need solving, and any related topics I would like to share with you. I expect to keep my posts short if I want to post more frequently with the occasional long form when a few words won’t cut it.
I hope you enjoy this journey with me as I begin my foray into the ever changing world of Computer Science!
